We really like this motor/chassis combo and feel that is car is built just as well as the other one we posted. The engine bay is super clean and the rest of the car looks to be a beautiful example of an E36 M3. Find it here in Orlando, FL, for $22,500.

Craigslist Find: '70 Camaro, LS1 Swap
If you've been following our site for awhile now, we're sure you can predict our likes and dislikes about this car. We love the LS1 swap and how clean it is inside and out. The first thing we'd do with the car in our hands is put the fuel injection back on the car, swap in a 6 speed, and probably do a big brake upgrade. This is a great start to our ideal version of a 2nd gen Camaro, but it's still pretty awesome as it sits. Even though the car is carbureted, it still has a very powerful, light weight motor sitting up front that you could enjoy as-is for a very long time. Find it here, in Vallejo, CA, for $15,000.

Craigslist Find: '99 Lexus GS300, LS1 Swap
We love big, comfy luxury cars that have a good amount of power. Sadly, most performance luxury cars past 1990 are automatics. This Lexus GS300 has a complete LS1 swap with T56 as well as some healthy modifications that put the HP to just over 400 at the wheels. The car is suspended via coil-overs, but there is no mention of brake upgrades. The Supra wheels help to keep it sleeper and overall, this car looks well built and well cared for. Find it here, in Winder, GA, for $15,000 OBO.

Craigslist Find: '86 Mazda Rx-7, LS1 Swap
This is the kind of swapped car we like to see. The seller has full documentation of mileage on motor and chassis and has put several thousands of miles on the car since the swap was completed. This Mazda looks well sorted and is putting down some healthy power figures. The car appears to be "done" mechanically and now just needs the aesthetics taken care of as it could use a paint job and some interior work. Seller states that the seat is currently in a fixed position for maximum headroom clearance to accommodate a helmet. That means you will probably have to spend a day or two adjusting the seat to fit comfortably. Find all the mod list and info here, with the car being located in Everett, WA, for $10,000.

Craigslist Find: '97 LS1 240sx
Dropping the LS1 into just about any Japanese performance cars changes it from a sporty car into a borderline supercar. This Zenki faced 240sx not only has a nicely built LS1, but the chassis has had a thorough going over as well. The seller has been so kind as to provide a link to his build thread on northwestnissan.com. If you're not a member of the site, you will only be able to view 2 pages before they block you. This car looks to be a great performance deal that would be just a at home on the track as it would be getting groceries. Find it here, in Olympia/Shelton, WA, for $14,999 OBO.

Craigslist Find: Mazda Rx-7, LS1 Project
This is a serious project and not for the modest garage, wiring-phobic, or the anemic budget. At $3,500, this is a great deal for what could be an amazing car. Budget accordingly or make sure you have the space and tools to do this project. There is no mention of a transmission in the deal, but the "shell" looks to be in good condition with a complete interior. Find it here, in Yuma, AZ.

Craigslist Find: '89 240SX, LS1 Swap
The LS1 seems to be the motor swap of choice if you're looking for big power and light weight. It's a very potent package, weighing in at around 60lbs more than a stock KA24DE and having well over double the HP/TQ. Sticking one in a 240SX is no worse for the car's weight than driving around with two 10" subs and a couple of amps. This S13 looks to have had a clean install and is (thankfully) still sportin' the T56. The motor looks to have been rebuilt with choice parts and has one monster of a cam. The seller has a 5-lug conversion and Wilwood 4 piston calipers on hand, but not installed. The icing on the cake for this car is that the A/C is installed and operating, but not at full capacity. Find this beast here, in Dallas Fort Worth, TX, for an amazingly low price of $9,000 or trade for 98+ GS300/400 or G35 sedan/coupe.

Craigslist Find: '66 Chevelle Convertible, LS1 Project
This '66 Chevelle is well on it's way to being a great boulevard cruiser. It looks like there's still a bit of work left to be done before the car is road ready, but these are the kind of projects that you can pick and choose how you want to enjoy the car. You can slap some glass on it, wire up the motor, and throw a bench seat in it to have it driving as quickly as possible, or you can spend the time to turn it into an amazing show car. Find this choose-your-adventure project here, in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, for $15,000 OBO.

eBay Find: '77 280Z, LS1 Swap
Take a light weight body, drop a light-weight-big-power V8 behind the front wheels, add a 6 speed manual trans, and a dash of big sticky rubbers and you've got a recipe for super car levels of performance. An LS1 powered S30 Datsun is on our bucket list in a bad way. This '77 280Z isn't Smog friendly but it is possible to get this car BAR'ed and passing smog with a good amount of work. While visually stunning for being stripped of it's chrome, the LS1 looks to have been installed with great care. Amazingly, this car has retained it's air conditioning and could end up being a daily driver for the next owner. The seller states that this car is an almost complete project but does not mention what's missing or necessary to complete. We love the subtly widened quarter panels that retain a very stock look. This is an incredibly well done Datsun and we wouldn't hesitate to place a bid. Find it here, in Gretna, LA, with current bid at $8,600, reserve not met.

Craigslist Find: LS1 Datsun 510 Project
It takes a certain bit of lunacy to stuff over 300hp and 300tq into a short wheel base chassis like a 510. This car is a major project and there isn't a clear description of the car's current state, however, when this project is complete, it promises to be an absolute handful. The LS1 weighs the same as a KA24DE and has enough low-end torque to pull down a house. The seller states that there is a serious roll cage, the front end is tubed, and is ready to have a LSx motor dropped into it but does not come with a LS1 or a trans. Find it here, in Santa Clara, CA, and the seller is looking to trade for a daily driver (e21, e30, e36, s13, s14, stock 510.) We're hoping that the body looks as stock as possible when this car is done.

Craigslist Find: '93 RX-7, LS1 Powered
The FD RX-7 is a great car in stock form. Pull the Wankel and put a LS1 in it's place and you've got quite the potent machine. This particular car has quite a few nice modifications done to the motor and brand name parts have been used in the swap. The car is listed at $13,000 which is quite a reasonable price for this setup, but there are some caveats that need to be noted. There is no interior other than a dash and steering wheel and the front end is fiberglass. Depending on what you want this car for, that's all irrelevant. If you want to daily drive it, then you need to budget accordingly. Find it here, in southwest Las Vegas, NV.

Craigslist Find: NASA Racing 2002 Camaro, Event Winner, Record Holder
We have a difficult time recommending race cars. The only time you get to interact with them is when you're racing or fixing them. This makes for a stressful, high maintenance relationship. So when we do recommend one it's because we feel that the car will be loyal to you, not the other way around. The 4th gen Camaro is a tried-and-true chassis that is getting more and more affordable to fix and the LS1 is about as reliable as a wood burning stove. This specific car has already been piloted to multiple podium finishes and holds a track record. Find your weekend time warp here in Centennial, CO for $14,000. Please remember that a racing like painting, just because you can pick up a paint brush doesn't mean you're going to create the Mona Lisa on your first try.

Forum Find: '91 LS1 Z28
Despite what the general population thinks of these cars, we here at Carticular have always been fans of the 3rd gen F-body. This car in particular, makes want to dawn a mullet, move to the South, and live the 3rd gen Camaro life. Everything is right and the list of modifications is a mile long. The car has just been completed (only having been around the block a time or two) so there will probably be teething issues. The car currently has a 4th gen dash which doesn't fit quite to our standards and the car currently has no headlights. Even with those few negatives, we would still drive love every minute of driving the car how it is. Find it here in southern Georgia for $16,500.

Craigslist Find: Clean Bay LS1 s13
Here's a great base for an amazing show/drift car with serious attention to detail in the engine bay! Aside from being setup to take an LS1 this little s13 is riding on 18x10's up front with no rubbing and some serious steering angle. Find it here for $2500 without motor or $6000 it with the motor on the Atlanta, GA craigslist. We recommend brushing up on your negotiating skills and trying to get him to throw in the suspension and brakes for that 6K!
