The M535i was the M5 before the M5. It was as high performance as possible at the time, sporting a 215hp/230tq 3.4ltr straight 6 with uprated brakes, suspension, and diff. These cars were only made between 1979 and 1981 and were only available in the European markets. This car is in pretty good condition but does need some love. The current owner has done quite a few bits of good maintenance that should keep it on the road for many years to come. Some of the issues are rusty doors, clutch/throwout bearing, and an aged interior. On the subject of the interior, we love it. There's a lot of detail that you just don't get in any of the more modern Bimmers. The color combo is nice on this car and we think it could clean up into something very special. 1981 BMW M535I
Euro bumper conversions on American Bimmers always catch our interest. This E28 looks to have been well cared for but it does need new paint and some of the interior reupholstered. The seller states that the motor is a Metric Mechanic 3.7ltr which churned out 270hp when new. The car also has about 100k miles on the drive-train and 222k miles on the odometer. 1986 BMW 535IS, Euro Bumpers
This pair of vintage BMW coupes came together with the intention of swapping the Euro 635CSI's M90 motor into the 2800CS. Both cars look really good as they sit and we'd have a hard time deciding whether or not to swap the m90 into the E9. The European version of the 635CSI is a thing of beauty. Those sexy little chrome bumpers are leaps and bounds nicer than the chrome diving boards the US model received. The higher compression motor doesn't hurt either. This car is an automatic and currently has a blown head gasket, which explains why the price is so low at $3,000. Find it here Modesto, CA!
1985 European Model BMW 635CSI
It was getting more and more difficult to pick a favorite at this years show.
This is one of those "once in a life time finds" we suggest you get on ASAP. The euro e36 m3 motor is a rare bird here in the states and this one has just so happened to nest in a E30 M3. The body is rough but the car can be driven with a reported cracked bell housing. Much love is need but at $12,000 OBO, we can't complain. Hell, not only can we not complain, we're considering...
