Many strange things go down the Salt Flats to outrageously high speeds and this VW Bus is no exception. It's originally a '66 Bus but it's been converted to look like a '54 barn door and is registered as a '54. The van comes with a 1500 long block that needs assembly and is set up to run a turbo. We love the look and think that this could be an awesome show car as well as good fun down at the Salt Flats. Find it here, in Sams Town, LV, for $15,000.

Craigslist Find: '80 Scirocco 1.8 Turbo Swap
One of the most stylish cars to ever come out of the VAG (Volkswagen Auto Group) has got to be the Scirocco. This one has many upgrades and has had a thorough refresh from top to bottom. The owner states that the last time the car was dynoed it was putting down 240hp at the wheels. That's a considerable amount of power to put through the front wheels of a light weight car and should get you up to merging speed in no time. The owner also states that some damage has occurred to the driver side fender and has posted pics of it through his ad. The damage looks minimal and overall the car looks to be a good deal at $5,300. Find it here in Seattle, WA.

Event: Coronado Festival of Speed 2011, Part 5
We're wrapping up our coverage of the 2011 Coronado Festival of Speed with the odds and ends from the show and the paddock. This Moto Guzzi powered trike is definitely odd.

Event: Cars and Coffee Part 1, June 2012
Cars and Coffee is an automotive gathering that started here in Southern California and has fervently spread across the US to other major metropolitan city. There's good reason for that level of excitement as this is one of the most eclectic shows around.

Craigslist Find: Rare Manual Trans W8 Passat Wagon
The W8 motor is a double edged sword. On one hand you have great performance, on the other you have expensive repairs being as the Passat was the only platform this drivetrain was ever offered in. This W8 wagon has the very rare and desirable manual transmission and looks to be in good condition. This car is being offered by a dealership in Roy, UT so we recommend either checking the car out yourself or having a third party inspection done. We love the color and the thought of owning a motor that ended up being the base architecture of the Bugatti Veyron's power plant. $6,995 seems to be a reasonable price for such a rare vehicle, find it here.

Event: 2011 South Pasadena Classic Car Show, Part 3
We've spent a lot of time praising South Pasadena for having high high quality and impossibly rare cars such as the 300SL Gullwing, and a trio of orignal Shelby Cobra Roadster, but the quality of custom cars is really what blew our minds.

Craigslist Find: '04 R32 Volkswagon
We like the R32 Golf. We like it's practical package, AWD, manual transmission, and the lovely sound it's V6 makes. This one has had some interesting modifications done, one of which allows the car to run on E85 which bumps the power up to 300. It also has programming to rev match on downshift like a new Nissan 370Z as well as a 2-step launch control system to ensure you have consistent 0-60 times. Find this wonderfully modded R32 here, in Clackamas, OR for $13,000.
