The trouble with shows in Vegas is that you're always tempted to take in all that the town offers. We weren't the only ones struggling to enjoy the show.
The weather forecast called for thunderstorms with a chance of snow so naturally some of the participants were scared off.
But that didn't stop a vast majority of the cars from the previous days showing up as well as some late arrivals.
Another Superbird made it out.
As well as the last R/T SE Charger.
Fortunately enough, the weather didn't rain holy hell down on us and we were able to get some good nostalgic drag racing in!
These old 'Cudas were running nitro.
You wouldn't believe the cacophony these things made on their way to sub 8 second quarter mile times.
We love catching cars at launch and seeing how the tires stress and twist on these high horse power cars.
We left the drag event to go check out some of the more modern cars at the show.
We love the SRT-8 Magnum and are a little disappointed that they're no longer in production. This particular car was running a 426 bored and stroked motor with a Vortech supercharger. This setup is capable of running 700hp at the wheels!
We loved this Magnum's stance on the viper 22's and the front black out was a nice touch.
This SRT-4 was the only representative of the four cylinder turbo cars.
This Magnum was running some seriously quick times on the drag strip.
But not as quick as this beast.
That's right, a v10 Drag Pak Challenger was tearing up the track and running sub 10 second times.
It fits so nicely!
ITB's on a modern 6.1 hemi?
Yes please!
Gotta love Mopar colors and graphics!
The '71 'Cuda is quite possibly, the most desirable of all the old Mopars.
As we headed back to our car, preparing for the long drive back to LA, we couldn't help but hope that someday soon we'll bring our own addition to the show. Look forward to our next series where we bring the 2011 Coronado Festival of Speed! Be sure to like our Facebook page to see even more pics from the shows!
