Less than 1600 Cosmo's were produced in total, making this one of the rarest cars at the show.
It really is a shame that so few of these beauties were produced.
Mazda was the only manufacturer to bring out prototype race cars.
We always like being able to get up close and personal with purpose built race cars.
There's a rotary motor in there somewhere!
The size to power ratio of the Wankel motor is one of the perks that draws many enthusiasts to Mazda. Sadly June of 2012 marked the last month of production for the rotary engines in Mazda's street cars.
We have it on good authority that this little 510 is running a monster of a turbo rotary.
The most important mod you should do before installing your bonkers motor is upgrading your brakes. It's never a good idea to find out how your vintage brake drums will slow you down from 120mph through practical testing.
510's look good in any condition if the ride height is right.
Patina is rarely frowned on at these shows.
It's always great to see the old motors being pushed to their performance limits.
Speaking of stance...
CCW wheels are always a good choice.Sometimes even big brakes aren't enough.
And a twin turbo small block Chevy will rocket you to the unsafe speeds that your heart desires. That wraps up our coverage of the 2011 Japanese Classic Car Show, so look forward to our next event coverage on the 2012 Mopars at the Strip!
