Craigslist find:'71 Datsun 510

This 510 has some nice modifications done and looks to be a straight bodied car. Seller claims that there is no rust but that the paint is cracking on the door. The stock L16 is paired with a 280Z 5 speed and would make a good daily driver. Find it here, in Sunnyvale, CA, for $6,500.

Craigslist Find: VW Bus, Salt Flat Racer

Many strange things go down the Salt Flats to outrageously high speeds and this VW Bus is no exception. It's originally a '66 Bus but it's been converted to look like a '54 barn door and is registered as a '54. The van comes with a 1500 long block that needs assembly and is set up to run a turbo. We love the look and think that this could be an awesome show car as well as good fun down at the Salt Flats. Find it here, in Sams Town, LV, for $15,000.

Craigslist Find: Clean, Original, '69 Fastback

An original/unrestored Fastback Mustang normally go for an unbelievable premium. This car however, is an original inline 6. The car looks clean but it's not perfect. We would expect to restore some of the interior and there's probably some minor rust somewhere, but we'd only attack those issues if we were building a perfect show car. Truthfully, we'd leave it as is for a couple of years and then out the old I6 on ice and power it with the V6 out of a 2011 or newer Mustang. At $16,000, we don't think you're going to find a Fastback in this condition for less. Find it here in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Craigslist Find: '73 Celica, F20C Swap

This '73 Celica has received one of the best four cylinder motors to come out of the late 90's, the F20C. It's a potent setup for just about any old Japanese car and we like the thought of 240hp in a RA21. The car does look clean in the pics and the seller doesn't mention any rust or body damage, but being in Hawaii, we would recommend a thorough inspection. The seller also list several upgrades like, adjustable suspension, LSD, and AEM fuel management that sweeten the deal a bit more. The car looks to missing some interior components and we would like to see a different set of wheels on the car, but those are small complaints for what promises to be a fun ride that you could daily drive. Find it here, in Lahaina, HI, for $12,000.

Craigslist Find: '65 Mustang Fastback

We can't say why we love this car, but we have to admit that the lead in shot is selling us on it. The thought of cruising over to Neptune's Net on the PCH in a fastback, at sunset, is a dream for many people and you know this one would look great doing it. At $18,000, we know that this isn't going to be a picture perfect fastback but it's a good price for a car that looks to have been gone over recently.  Find it here, in Santa Monica, CA.

eBay Find: LS7 Powered '70 Malibu

This Malibu is such a sleeper that it might as well have fluffy sheep jumping over it. The Gold paint and Gold vinyl bench seat look like something your grandmother would have driven back in the 70's. This car has Hotchkis suspension, disk brakes all around, and a 4l60e to leisurely get all of that power to the ground. We'd love to see a T-56 in this car but that might ruin the total sleeper look. At $24,500 this looks to be a great deal for anyone looking to buy a weekend cruiser that will stomp just about anything that pulls up next to them at the lights. Find it here, in Napa, CA.

Craigslist Find: E28 Race Car

eBay Find: Turbo LSX Powered Studebaker Commander

One of the prettiest and quickest cars ever offered by Studebaker is the Commander and this particular Commander has received a second chance at that life. While not currently "pretty", this car is dead to nuts cool. The original paint has become a nice patina from the car sitting outside in LA for 21 years. This car was saved from it's backyard prison and given a new lease on life with a 5.3 from a 2000 Silverado and a T-56 from a 2005 GTO. Then it got a turbo. This Derelict style Stud has been daily driven for the last two months and we have to say that we would keep it just the way it is. Find all of the details here and the car is located in Pasadena, CA, with current bid at $9,100 and the reserve not met. Auction ends on August 31, at 10pm pacific standard time.

Craigslist Find: '73 Turbo II Swapped Rx3

It's been quite awhile since we found a reasonably clean RX3. This one looks to be well sorted and has a healthy looking Turbo II swap. The car is set up for drag racing with it's Ford 9" rear, but also has coil-overs and Willwood brakes. The price is a bit steep, but like we said, it's been awhile since we've seen a clean RX3. Find it here for $11,000 in Los Angeles, CA.

Craigslist Find: '86 535IS

Euro bumper conversions on American Bimmers always catch our interest. This E28 looks to have been well cared for but it does need new paint and some of the interior reupholstered. The seller states that the motor is a Metric Mechanic 3.7ltr which churned out 270hp when new. The car also has about 100k miles on the drive-train and 222k miles on the odometer. This looks to be a good deal for $4,200. Find all of the details here, in Northwest Tuscan, AZ.

Craigslist Find: E30 M3, S52 Swap, Never This Cheap

We're going to keep this short and simple. An E30 M3 is rarely this cheap, an s52 swapped E30 M3 is never this cheap. The car does hold a salvage title, the body is not perfect, the master cylinder has failed, no AC, no power steering, gutted interior, and no heater core. It's still the deal of the century. Find it here, in Las Vegas, NV, for $7,250.

Craigslist Find: V8 Swapped '69 Porsche 912

It seems to be a good time to be in the market for a vintage Porsche. This '69 912 has had a Chevy 350 swap which makes the phrase "Never lift." more true than ever before. We bet it launches off the line like a bat-outta-hell but when it comes to the twisties it's sure to be more than a tail happy handful. This car has a long list of mods including coil-over suspension. The seller states that the only issues is that the car overheats in traffic, which can probably be solved with a better radiator or more efficient cooling fans. Find it here, in Garden Grove, CA, for $14,800.

Craigslist Find: '71 Corolla, Rotary Swap

This little Corolla started life as a mildly bland economy car, but now it's well on it's way to being a funky fire breathing monster. The little bolt on flares and fender mirrors completely change this car from slightly boring to fun, vintage, and clearly Japanese. The Rotary swap gives us a slight pause when considering reliability, but we're willing to give it a shot and drive this car until the Apex seals fail. Find this great Corolla here, in San Juan Capistrano, CA, for $5,300.

Craigslist Find: '73 Alfa Romeo GTV, Never This Cheap

It's a rare day when you find a running/driving Alfa Romeo GTV for $5,000. It's kind of like finding a winning lottery ticket in a urinal, there's a good chance that it's a prank, but you want to believe and the worst you'll have to do is wash your hands before you get too deep. This one looks legit and will need a good deal of body work if you're looking for a show car. We'd leave it the way it is and drive it until the doors fall off. Find it here, in Ramona, CA.

eBay Find: Dream '74 Porsche RSR Replica, 993 Motor

We appreciate what Singer has done with the 911, but for us, this is the perfect 911. A classic body and chassis being powered by a newer motors and suspension. We're sure that the singer is quicker, rides better, and is just plain better at everything compared to this car but it doesn't look... right. Aside from the CCW wheels we think this car is perfect on the outside and the Recaro seats match well to the vintage interior. This car has many upgrades and we would love for this little RSR replica to call our garage home. Find it here, in Pheonix, AZ, for $49,000 OBO.

Craigslist Find: '78 Volvo 242, Slammed Brick

And we use "Brick" in a completely endearing way, we love the way this car looks. This Volvo looks like a great daily driver and should be economical as well. With the asking price as low as it is ($4,650 OBO) we'd budget to replace the Tenzo racing seats with a set of E30 sport seats. Fulfill your prancing Moose dreams here, in Seattle, WA.

Craigslist Find: Dream Boulevard Cruiser, Chopped '56 Cadillac

It's hard not to appreciate a chopped Cadillac from the 50's. They're oozing pure American vintage style and look cool in just about any state driving down the road.  This one has quite a bit of work that needs to be done before you're cruising her down Main St. but the price looks to be well worth it.  At $3,500 you're getting everything to put her back together sans motor and trans. We don't mind the lack of powertrain, it just means we can justify any motor swap of our choice. We'd love to see one of these with a hybrid powertrain out of an Escalade or Tahoe, it'd be the perfect daily driver! There does appear to be some body work that's still needed, which if you want it all to done in metal can add up quickly. Find it here, in Vancouver, WA.

Craigslist Find: '72 510, Honda S2000 Swap

The Honda S2000 is a great car, but what happens when you swap that F20C into a car that drops a couple hundred pounds and adds two more doors? You get a really fun grocery getter. The motor swap looks to have been done right and the body looks straight but it looks like the next owner may need to budget for some suspension and interior work. We're also hoping that a matching set of wheels comes with the car, especially for the asking price of $10,000. This car has been for sale for awhile now, so we're guessing that the seller is firm on his asking price.  Find the full details here, in Puyallup, WA.

Craigslist Find: 1970 Porsche 911T, RS Esque Wide Body Deal

The Carrera RS is by far our most favorite 911 and we see nothing but potential to turn this cheap 911T into a RS inspired daily driver.  We've seen rusty shells go for substantially more than the $12,500 that the seller is asking for this one. The flares aren't correct RS flares but they still look great and the non-porschephile wouldn't know the difference. The seller has a very in-depth ad and seems to be very honest about the things that are wrong with the car. The speedometer and odometer no longer function, the gas gauge isn't totally accurate, and the syncros on first and second may need to be replaced. There are a few other small problems but nothing that would keep this from being worth what the seller is asking. Find it here in Orange, CA!

Craigslist Find: Ultimate Beach Car, LT1 Swapped 300TD Benz

If you're fortunate enough to live in Hawaii then we're sure you're aware of the grueling tole you take on your car every time you go to the beach. Salt air, sandy people, bumps and dings from your fellow beach goers, and the inevitable break in. The great thing about this Merc is that you have all the space you could need for surf boards and people, the body is rough and already rusty, and the motor has been swapped out for a LT1 and 4L60E from a '97 Camaro SS just in case you need to make a quick get-away. This car has had it's plates turned and is in storage status with the DMV. The seller says they have extra fenders and bumpers to go along with the car and is asking a very reasonable $2,500. Find it here, on Oahu, HI! Special thanks to Travis for the submission!

Craigslist Find: 1990 325IS, S50 Swap, Extensive Parts List

Yesterday's E21 set the bar pretty high for modified Bimmers and while this E30 didn't go through such a thorough restoration it still looks Fantastic. The hounds tooth sport interior is a rare option that looks great and appears to be in fair condition. We're big fans of S50 swapped cars and this one looks to have had no corners cut in it's construction. One of the major pitfalls with this car is that it is not BAR'ed and has no catalytic converter, therefore it will not pass smog. The owner says that they will "...discus details of handling smog." with perspective buyers. Either way, we suggest you budget for a cat. This car looks great and the price reflects that at $10,500. Find it here in La Crescenta, CA. Special thanks to Shaun and Mike for the submission!

Craigslist Find: '90 ZR1, Mild Mods

The Zr1 is a very special part of the early 90's as it was the first time that the American auto manufacturers proved they could build a car that kept up with the best the world had to offer. It was cheap, had wild performance specs that are still impressive today, and it looked great. This specific car has had some mild performance tweeks in the form of port and polished heads and intake, headers, and a tune that has brought the power up from the stock 380hp to about 460 flywheel horse power. This car hasn't been driven much, as it has 43,000 miles on the clock. If you don't know, the LT5 that powers these cars are dual overhead cam monsters that were based on the LTx architecture, but were completely revised by Yamaha Racing. The Zr1 is a great notch in the belt for American Manufacturers and we think that they will become serious collector cars in the near future. Find this fantastic example here, in Snoqualmie, WA, for $21,800 or partial trade for "guy stuff".

Craigslist Find: '70 Dodge Challenger Returned to the Streets

Like a race horse being put out to pasture, this '70 Challenger that was formerly a track car has been converted back to use for the streets. That doesn't mean it's lost it's pedigree or performance though. It still retains a 440 big block that's been bored .30 over and an 8 point roll cage that's sure to keep the body nice and rigid. The seller states that a full rotisserie restoration was done and that the motor was recently rebuilt. Find it here, in Placerville, CA, for $22,000.

Craigslist Find: Flared and M20 Powered E21

We've always liked the E21 3 Series but we've never been sold on the reliability of it compared to the E30. This one not only cures our doubts but improves the all around look and performance. The motor has been swapped for a M20 that utilizes the larger stroke of the "ETA" block and has the head off of an "I" motor for top end performance. Oh, and those flares are hand formed metal, not fiberglass that's going to start separating from the body in a couple of years. We think this car looks great and the wheels are a rare set of epsilons that are 15x8 front and 15x10 rear. We've only covered a small portion of the modifications done to this beautiful little E21 but we still think asking price is a little steep at $15,000. The car has been totally gone through and has some nice custom additions but if you compare this car to an E30 that's around the same price, you're going to get a lot more for your money. That being said, we think that you won't find another well sorted E21 like this anywhere else. Find it here, in Woodland Hills, CA.

Craigslist Find: '93 RX-7, LS1 Powered

The FD RX-7 is a great car in stock form. Pull the Wankel and put a LS1 in it's place and you've got quite the potent machine. This particular car has quite a few nice modifications done to the motor and brand name parts have been used in the swap. The car is listed at $13,000 which is quite a reasonable price for this setup, but there are some caveats that need to be noted. There is no interior other than a dash and steering wheel and the front end is fiberglass. Depending on what you want this car for, that's all irrelevant. If you want to daily drive it, then you need to budget accordingly. Find it here, in southwest Las Vegas, NV.

Craigslist Find: '68 Camaro RS, 454, Extensive Mods

There seems to be a plethora of affordable muscle cars out there these days and price just seem to keep dropping. This '68 Camaro started life as 396 4 speed car and has been turned into a drag strip warrior. The 396 was replaced with a 454 that was bored .30 over with a mild cam and unfortunately the 4 speed was replaced by a turbo 400. The brakes have been upgraded to disk all around, the diff has been replaced with a for 9",  and a 12 point cage has been installed to keep things as safe as possible should things go very, very wrong. Find it all here for $16,500 in Corpus Christi, TX.

Forum Find: '74 Mercedes 240D, Daily Driver, Mild Drop

Change your daily driver to a classic, regal, and economical ride with this 1974 Mercedes 240D. We've always been fans of the diesel powered Mercedes and this one looks great with it's green paint and color matched hubs. The owner seems to have thorough knowledge of these cars and has full documentation and receipts on recent rebuilds and parts purchased. The seller has a pretty entertaining ad and is asking $4,000. The car is located just north of Atlanta, GA and the seller claims to have a hookup on cross country shipping as well. Find your classy new daily here!

Craigslist Find: '67 Mustang Fastback

Here's one of those unicorn fastback Mustangs that's affordable and in good condition. A 289 and a 3 speed manual make for a great powertrain and the factory green and black interior complete the package for a great looking vintage Mustang. The price isn't too bad either. At $20,000, this looks like a solid deal on a stock fastback Mustang. Find it here, in Hood River, OR.

Craigslist Find: '74 Datsun 710

We've always thought of the 710 as the Datsun family's less fortunate middle child. Her sisters, the 240z and 510, were always sexy cheerleaders/cross country stars while the 710 had all of the potential, but decided to smoke behind the bleachers instead. We still think she has potential to keep up with here sisters and would love to see one of these stanced right with a decent motor swap. She may not have the independent rear suspension or the aftermarket support that her sisters have but it shouldn't be too difficult to mix and match parts from other Datsun models to make something great happen. This particular car looks like it's in good shape and is a perfect shade of blue to stand out at the next Datsun show. Find it here, in Alamosa, CA, for $1,500.

Craigslist Find: Not Your Grandmother's Buick

We're not judging your Grandmother, but she most likely drives a Buick and it's from the late 90's, V6, and is FWD. This fortunate Skylark probably didn't see a claimed 600hp and a roll cage in it's future but we're so very happy that things have turned out the way it has for this car. We've seen really nice examples of these sitting out in the scrapyard and it's good to see one getting the love it so deserves. The prostreet stance this car has is great and we can just imagine how wonderful that 468 big block must sound. Because this is one of the more off beat muscle cars, it doesn't command the high prices that some of it's more popular contemporaries can. Find this monster Buick bargain here, in Tacoma, WA, for $7,500 OBO!

Craigslist Find: Cheap, Rare, Real Lamborghini

The Urraco may not be the Lambo you had as a poster on your bedroom wall growing up, but it's still incredibly rare and an authentic Lamborghini. Not many of these cars were made for the US market and we're not sure if you're going to find another one this clean for this cheap. At $28,800, it's less than a new Toyota Avalon and we don't know a single interesting person that drives  an Avalon. We're not saying you're going to be able to drive this daily (chances are you'll arrive at your destination in a smoke cloud of some kind) but you would own a real yellow Lamborghini that would be an absolute blast to drive on the weekends. We love that this is Lamborghini's attempt at making a practical car with it's 2+2 layout and tiny 2.5ltr V8 that leaves room for storage compartments at the front and rear of the car. We also think that these cars are on their way to becoming collectors so this may be a good opportunity to invest in some fine Italian goods. Find it here in Valencia, CA!

Craigslist Find: '73 BMW 2002, M20 Swap, Track Setup

The 2002 has always been a competent track car that will also get you to and from work on time. This particular 2002 has a nice set of flares and the original motor has been replaced with the ever reliable M20 out of a 1989 325i. The M20 may not be the lightest motor in the world but it makes good power, torque, and is unbelievably efficient in cars that weigh a 1000lbs more than this little 2002. The interior has been stripped, four point cage added, four piston brakes upgraded, and the suspension has been upgraded with Bilstein adjustable shocks. Find it here in Aurora, CO, for $7,000.

Craigslist Find: Diesel Swapped '78 Datsun 620

It's hard to resist the sway of diesel these days with the cost being almost as much as premium gas. This Datsun 620 pickup has had it's petrol burning heart replaced by a diesel SD22 and a 5 speed manual. We think this truck looks great and would be an awesome daily driver or weekend work horse. We imagine that getting it past smog is going to be a monumental hassle but would be worth it at the end of the day. Find it here, in Sun Valley, CA, for $4,500.

Forum Find: '93 240sx, VQ35HR, RHD Conversion

The 240sx has always been a fun and competent platform for just about any form of motor sport. The stock KA24 was designed with the purpose of being a sport economy motor with a good amount of pep. This modern day 240sx owner has kicked the old 4 banger to curb in favor of a fire breathing VQ35HR from a '08 350z. If that wasn't enough to make this car unique from the rest of the s13's out there, he also converted it to right hand drive. This car has a long list of modifications as well as a complete build thread and a video of the car on a dyno run in the ad on Zilvia. Find it here, in Willow Grove, PA, for $9,000 OBO.

Craigslist Find: '71 Datsun 240z, L28 Turbo

Here's another great turbo swapped 240z and this one is smog exempt for you California residents. The car was painted within the last month and is said to be a daily driver. The molded in rear flares look great as does the dyed black interior. The seller reports that the air con is in the car but needs to be hooked up and that the clutch is on it's way out but doesn't effect normal driving conditions. This car looks well sorted and it's needs are minor for the price. Find it here for $6,200 in San Diego, CA.

Craigslist Find: '91 BMW E30 Touring, 316TI in the US

It may be 2012 but the E30 touring is still a rare thing here in the US. This one looks like it's in great condition and doesn't appear to be lacking in any way. The BBS RS wheels look great as well as the black leather interior. We love the mildly useless headlight wipers that some of these Euro spec cars came with and the 316 motor is extremely rare on this side of the Atlantic. As good as this car looks you would expect a hefty price tag to be attached to it, and you'd be right! The seller is asking $19,500 and truth be told, we think it's worth it. Forum Find: '88 M3, Numerous Upgrades, Amazing Restore

If you disagreed with our judgment the last time we called an E30 M3 perfect, then this is probably more your style. This M3 has been fully redone from top to bottom and no expense has been spared. The interior is beautiful, the AC works, and the body was taken down to bare metal in 2010 and repainted. While it may seem sacrilegious to replace the S14 with the S52, we personally love the sound of that wailing straight six. Everything has been done to the car since 2010 so you have few years of pure driving pleasure before a wrench needs to be turned. At $34,000 we still feel that the owner will be taking a loss and if you have the spare change, you won;t find a nicer E30 M3. Find it here in Brooklyn, NY.

Craigslist Find: '06 BMW M5

With the release of the new F10 M5 prices have started to tumble on the previous generation E60 M5. This particular car has a very nice color combination with the black paint, white leather, and red wood trim. Some service has recently been done but the car is fast approaching the 100k mile mark which means a major service is just on the horizon. Personally, we have loved every generation of M5 but the V10 holds a special place in our hearts. The unique sound and power delivery make this car stand out from the rest of the German elite sedans.
