Craigslist Find: Stanced Crown Vic

Not much info on this one. All we know is it looks great and seller states that there was a recent tune-up, including new injectors. Crown Vics are some of the most stout cars on the road and a re a great go-to for a reliable daily driver. This car looks great as is, but we'd be tempted to paint the doors white and put some black steelies on it! Find it here, in Houston/Humble, TX, for $4,500 OBO. Hmmmmm.... what would the ideal motto and department seal be? "Hard Parking Enforcement" and a seal adorned with coil-overs and airbags?

Craigslist Find: '99 Impreza Wagon, WRX Swap

This WRX swapped '99 Impreza looks to be a great deal for someone who is looking to do a little bit of work. The car is being offered at $5,000 but there is an issue where the car is laggy under full boost. We're assuming it could be something as simple as a boost leak or a plugged cat, but there could be a much more serious problem. The seller is willing to have the problem diagnosed and fixed, but would up the price to $7,000. The seller reports that the wagon just made the long journey from PA to SoCal with no issues. This Impreza wagon looks great as it sits and makes a healthy 243hp to the wheels when running properly. Find it here, in Chino, CA, for $5,000 as is. Being as the car is currently registered in PA and for sale in CA, we would like to note that this may not be smog legal as it sits.

Craigslist Find: '69 Datsun 510, KA24DE Project

This 510 is definitely one we recommend checking out in person. We saw this car for sale a couple of weeks ago in Sacramento and now it's for sale again in Burbank. The current seller states that there is some rust and the car needs a radiator, but the KA is running strong. The car has coil-overs with camber plates as well as front and rear sway bars. This looks like it could be a good daily driver with minimal work if you're not bothered by rust. The seller is willing to tow the car 30 miles to it's next home. Find it here, for $3,000 OBO. We recommend checking the VIN with the DMV for backed fee's, that way there are no surprises when you go to register it.

Craigslist Find: Bagged '73 Mercedes 280

Bagged classic German cars are some of the coolest stanced cars on the road today. Air bags are a great alternative to a static drop if you're looking to daily drive your car and have it survive the speed bumps in you office parking lot. This particular car looks to have had the air ride installed properly but may need a new exhaust system. The paint is described as having a nice patina so if that's not your thing we recommend budgeting for a paint job. Find this stylish daily driver here, in Tacoma, WA, for $4,500.

Craigslist Find: '86 Mercedes 190E Cosworth

Now that the E30 M3 has reached a level of popularity that places it firmly outside of the average enthusiast budget, it's time to consider another German alternative. The 190E was the direct competitor for the M3 and offered a very similar package (RWD, 180hp 2.3 4 cylinder, optional manual transmission). The E30 M3 was never offered as a four door so the Merc is a little bit more functional. These cars are very competent and don't go for anywhere near what the M3's do (yet). We expect that the Cosworth cars will go up in value over the next few years. This car looks to be well maintained and has all the right upgrades and options. Find it here, in Flowery Beach, GA, for $5,500.

Craigslist Find: Custom Subaru 360 Van

We' not quite sure what to think about this Subaru 360. We admire the amount of work that has gone into creating this very unique car. The stock motor has been swapped out with a VW 1915cc that is capable of pulling wheelies. The car does need some work still (rear axles(?), tank/compressor, door rubbers). Find it here, in Fallbrook, CA, for $19,500. This car isn't for everyone but we're glad it exists.

Forum Find: 525IT, S50 Cams, 5 Speed Swap

This E34 looks great and promises to be good fun while grocery getting. The lackluster automatic has been swapped out for a 5 speed manual and the motor has been given a little bit more breathing room with a set of S50 cams. The car sits on adjustable coil-overs and doesn't come with the AC Schnitzer wheels that are pictured. This car is a pretty good deal at $5,500, but there are some minor issues that need addressing. The passenger seat doesn't adjust correctly, some of the front end is a mismatched white, the power sunroof is non-op, and the headliner is slightly sagging in the rear of the vehicle. Find this great daily driver here, in Northridge, CA.

eBay Find: RB26 Powered E30

We see a lot cars that are wild on the outside while running very sedate engine setups. You don't have to worry about that here, every inch of this E30 is as batty as it looks. The pedestrian M20 has been swapped for a R32 GT-R RB26 that has also been built to take just about anything you could ever plan on throwing at it. The brakes, suspension, interior, and body have all been modified in one way or another. Fortunately, all of the changes were tracked and cataloged in the seller's build blog. We don't know if the seller will be able to get what he's asking for the car, but one thing is for sure, you'll never come across another one like it anywhere in the world. Find the complete list of parts and work here, in Lakeview, NY, for $29,999 OBO.

Craigslist Find: '89 240SX, LS1 Swap

The LS1 seems to be the motor swap of choice if you're looking for big power and light weight. It's a very potent package, weighing in at around 60lbs more than a stock KA24DE and having well over double the HP/TQ. Sticking one in a 240SX is no worse for the car's weight than driving around with two 10" subs and a couple of amps. This S13 looks to have had a clean install and is (thankfully) still sportin' the T56. The motor looks to have been rebuilt with choice parts and has one monster of a cam. The seller has a 5-lug conversion and Wilwood 4 piston calipers on hand, but not installed. The icing on the cake for this car is that the A/C is installed and operating, but not at full capacity. Find this beast here, in Dallas Fort Worth, TX, for an amazingly low price of $9,000 or trade for 98+ GS300/400 or G35 sedan/coupe.

Craigslist Find: '76 BMW 2002, Exquisite Rebuild

This wonderful 2002 has been completely gone through with one of the best motor rebuilds we've seen in these cars. The body/interior look fantastic and the car is rebuilt from top to bottom with great care. The seller states that the motor needs some tuning to get the maximum potential out of it, but is currently running and driving. Find the full parts list here, in Gleneagle, CO, priced at $11,000.

Craigslist Find: '73 240Z, GNose, Blown SBC

The GNose is a polarizing look for the 240Z. It completely transforms the look of the car into something that you either love or hate. This car looks great with the BMW Sepang Bronze Metallic contrasting nicely against the bare carbon fiber flares. While the body is purely Japanese, the motor is a roots blown, all american small block Chevy. Seller states that the interior needs work, but makes no mention of brakes or suspension upgrades. The car is also running an automatic TH350 transmission. The seller has not listed a price but judging from the only trade he would like to make, (MKIV Supra) he's looking for a considerable amount for this car. We're not sure how much it's actually worth without seeing more pics of the motor, interior, suspension, and brakes. In this situation, it's best to contact the seller and feel out how much value he places on the car. If you're local go see the car before making an offer. Find it here, in Fresno, CA, make an offer!

Craigslist Find: '74 Celica, 2RZ Tacoma Swap

We like Celicas and we like motor swaps, so naturally we'll love this Celica. The 2RZ may not be a monstrous powerhouse of a motor, but it should pull this light weight Celica around with ease while returning some stellar MPG's. The 2RZ produces about 140hp and 160tq while getting an estimated 20 city and 27 highway in a stock Tacoma. The Tacoma weighs substantially more than the Celica, so we think you shouldn't have any trouble accomplishing over 30 highway miles per gallon. This car looks stunning in white and the blue stripes are just right. The seller states that there is no rust or bondo anywhere on the car, but does not mention if anything has been done to the suspension or brakes. Find it here, in Denver, CO, for $10,000 OBO.

Forum Find: '00 323I Touring, 5 Speed Swap

Well cared for, lowered, 5 speed swap, 323I touring. It basically sells itself in very few words. This car has very nice list of recent maintenance items and below average miles on the odometer.  The stance is just right, falling right just in the realm of daily drivable with minor scrapes every now and then. The matte black roof isn't something we would boast about as it will look like a cheap fix for a sun faded roof. We would suggest that if you cannot live without the black roof to have it painted glass black. This car should turn out some impressive fuel economy numbers and be a very competent daily driver. Find it here, in Gainesville, FL, for $9,000 OBO. The price is on the high side but it is rare to find a 5 speed RWD touring.

2000 BMW 323I, 5 Speed Swap

Craigslist Find: '69 Camaro, Drag Car

Wheelies are awesome. Terrifyingly awesome. You need a metric ton of power, light weight, and tires that are stickier than a Lohan's past. This '68 Camaro is built to go incredibly fast in a straight line and makes no apologies for it. At $17,500, it's one of the cheapest cars that we've seen that can do wheelies to a sub 6 second 1/8th mile. Find it here, in Montgomery, TX.

Craigslist Find: '71 Plymouth 'Cuda Project

IF you're not familiar with the '71 'Cuda, please brace yourself. This true 'Cuda project is fairly complete, comes with a shaker hood, gilled fenders, grill, and a complete interior in boxes. The car was originally a 340 automatic car, but now comes with a 383 auto that isn't installed. This project looks to have very minimal rust for it's condition and is being sold for the relatively low price of $14,000 OBO. We found an older ad where the seller was asking $12,000 OBO and we think he may go even lower than that, especially if you have cash in hand. Find it here, in La Habra, CA.

Craigslist Find: Slammed '69 510, KA24E

This 510 is low. So low in fact, that you won't be able to take it anywhere without first checking for speed bumps, dips, tree roots, pebbles, cigarette butts, etc...We wouldn't even consider restoring it the because the chassis and frame have got to have been scraped and dented into a fine art piece. That being said, we love this car. It's the lowest 510 we've ever seen. The paint/patina looks amazing and the KA24E means it could be a great daily driver. We would leave this car exactly as is and drive it as often as possible to places we're familiar with. Seller states that there are some issues with that could use addressing, like some wiring issues and the speedometer isn't functional. If you end up buying this car and having it shipped, please let us know if it will even make it up a flat bed trailer ramp. Find it here in Stanwood, WA, for $3,500 OBO.

Craigslist Find: '05 Mustang Race Car, Supercharged V6

The V6 Mustang has always had a hard time getting recognition from enthusiasts as a performance car. This '05 V6 looks to change that with the addition of a supercharger and some serious racing gear. The biggest advantage of a V6 is that it's lighter, which makes the front of the car feel more nimble. The supercharger does add some weight to the front end, but it does help close the gap in HP between the GT and the standard car. This car also benefits from a roll cage, full suspension, and what looks like a hydraulic hand brake for you drifting fans. It's also worth mentioning that despite all of the racing goodies, the car is street legal as well. Find it here, in Anaheim Hills, CA, for $10,000.

Craigslist Find: '66 Chevelle Convertible, LS1 Project

This '66 Chevelle is well on it's way to being a great boulevard cruiser. It looks like there's still a bit of work left to be done before the car is road ready, but these are the kind of projects that you can pick and choose how you want to enjoy the car. You can slap some glass on it, wire up the motor, and throw a bench seat in it to have it driving as quickly as possible, or you can spend the time to turn it into an amazing show car. Find this choose-your-adventure project here, in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, for $15,000 OBO.

Craigslist Find: '66 Fairlady Roadster, FJ20

This little Fairlady roadster has had it's tired old 1600 swapped out for a FJ20ET, sans the E and the T. The motor has been stripped of it's fuel injection and turbo in favor of a set of Weber carburetors for ease of tuning. The car looks like a solid deal at $3,800 but there is some sort of fuel issue that needs to be resolved before the car can be driven hard. As usual with swapped cars, the speedometer and tach aren't functioning. This car needs a couple weekends worth of work to be fully functional again, but it does currently run and drive. Find it here, in Imperial Beach, CA. Special thanks to Dave for the submission!

Forum Find: KA24DET '73 240Z

The SR20DET seems to be the turbo four cylinder of choice when swapping motors into classic Datsuns, but the KA24DET has some perks as well. For starters, it usually has more low-end torque and parts are more readily available at your local scrap yard. So it does make sense to find one so well put together in a Z car, like this one. The seller looks to have built the motor properly as well as the suspension. There is no mention of a brake upgrade which we feel is necessary for an old car with this much power. Find it here in Santa Ana, CA, for $11,000 with wheels or $10,000 without, OBO.

Craigslist Find:'93 GMC Typhoon

The Typhoon is a legendary truck that was one of the quickest bang for your buck autos on the road. Their turbo V6 and AWD put down some remarkable 0-60 times. This particular truck has had a few upgrades to help stay up to snuff with it's modern day competitors. There is some work that needs to be done (cosmetic and a turbo with some play on the impeller shaft) but it is a running driving vehicle and it is one of the cheapest Typhoon's that we've seen in awhile. The seller also states that the gas gauge isn't reading accurately, when you're at E you actually have 3 more gallons. This is a common problem with this platform as one of our staff member had an '89 GMC Jimmy that did the exact same thing. Find it here, in Henderson, NV, for $6,500.

Craigslist Find: '61 Ford Ranchero Custom

Functionality and style come together in this beautiful '61 Ford Ranchero. This car/truck has been bagged and shaved into a perfect example of a late 50's to early 60's car. The three on the tree sounds like a load of fun but it looks like there is no power steering, which could end being a challenging combination. Despite the attention to detail in the body work, there are still a few small project that need to be tackled. The speedometer, gas gauge, turn signals, wipers, and heater controls are all non-op. This car is still a deal at $5,900 considering that all of the faults could be fixed in a couple of weekends. Find it here, in Fair Oaks, CA.

Craigslist Find: RB25DET 240Z Project

Get a head start on your project for next year's JCCS! This car has already had the engine bay painted white and the RB25DET is ready to wired up. The car still needs to have the remainder of the body sanded and prepped for paint as well as assembly. The seller doesn't mention anything about an interior or if any suspension or brake mods have been done. The seller states that there is no title and the car will come with a bill of sale only. We recommend that the next buyer does their due diligence in checking the vin with the DMV. Find it here, in San Fernando, CA, for $4,500.

Craigslist Find: '86 325E, M50 Swap

Sometimes the best daily driver isn't in immaculate condition. Worry free driving and parking is a nice departure from stressing about finding an end stall or having to drive through that shady neighborhood on your way to work. Reliability and fun can be had in an inconspicuous package like this e30. The M50 gives you all of the reliability and MPG's as well as a good boost in power over the m20b27. This car has considerable amount of work done to it and is already a good deal at $2,800, but it also comes with a roll cage that is ready to be installed. Find this daily driver deal here, in Willowbrook, IL.

Forum Find: CHEAP Sr20DET 240Z

This is a running/driving 240Z with some rust issues for $5,500! the car looks like it also has a roll-bar installed. We've never seen a S30 that looks this good with this motor swap for so cheap. Find it here, on ratsun.net, in Colorado. Move quick, this one isn't going to be around long!

eBay Find: Pro-Touring '66 Chevelle, LS6 Swap

This is the most sinister pro-touring Chevelle we've ever seen. It's still a mild work in progress as the interior and side glass need completing, but we love where the car is at this point. The custom taillights look great at night and it's nice to see a t-56 in a Chevelle instead of the 4l60e automatic. This car car looks to have had no expense spared in it's build, but there are some core things we would change. We'd love to see some form of fuel injection and our neuroses would get the better of us when it came to keeping the red powder coated frame clean. The car was appraised at $60,000 but the current bid is $28,200 with no reserve and just over 3 days remaining. Find it here, in Sunnyvale, CA!

eBay Find: '77 280Z, LS1 Swap

Take a light weight body, drop a light-weight-big-power V8 behind the front wheels, add a 6 speed manual trans, and a dash of big sticky rubbers and you've got a recipe for super car levels of performance. An LS1 powered S30 Datsun is on our bucket list in a bad way. This '77 280Z isn't Smog friendly but it is possible to get this car BAR'ed and passing smog with a good amount of work. While visually stunning for being stripped of it's chrome, the LS1 looks to have been installed with great care. Amazingly, this car has retained it's air conditioning and could end up being a daily driver for the next owner. The seller states that this car is an almost complete project but does not mention what's missing or necessary to complete. We love the subtly widened quarter panels that retain a very stock look. This is an incredibly well done Datsun and we wouldn't hesitate to place a bid. Find it here, in Gretna, LA, with current bid at $8,600, reserve not met.

Craigslist Find: '72 DeTomaso Pantera Project

Pantera's weren't known for reliability and safety from the factory, this you chance to improve on an amazing classic Italian car. These cars were so frustratingly unreliable that the King of Rock himself returned to his garage (after many failed attempts at starting) and a bullet through his Pantera in a hope to put it out of his misery. For all of their issues from the factory, these cars were among the fastest on the road. This particular Pantera has a nicely integrated roll cage and is waiting for someone to slap their desired motor and trans combo in the back of it. We'd love to see a new Coyote motor in the car but that's probably to wide to fit within the stock engine bay without serious fabrication. Find it here, in the San Francisco Bay area, CA for $15,950.

Craigslist Find: '85 635csi

It's a rare day when you find an e24 that someone has put an e30 amount of love into. This 635CSI looks great and is sitting right on a set of 19" OZ 3 piece wheels. A long list of refreshed and improved parts have turned this car into one of the cleanest e24's we've seen. We prefer these cars with euro bumpers, but the fog lights have hidden that tremendous under bite quite nicely. Find it here, in Mill Creek, WA, for $7,000.

Craigslist Find: '89 Nissan Skyline

Relatively rare and quintessentially 1980's styling, the R31 Skyline is a seriously cool car. Add two doors and you've got the makings of a great daily driver that is sure to impress at the next JDM meet. This car is powered by a Rb20DET and has all the mods you could hope for. We're diggin' the pillarless four door look and it's a 5 speed manual. We think that the asking price of $13,000 OBO is very fair considering that it is completely road legal. Find it here, in Marietta, GA.

Craigslist Find: '67 Chrysler Crown Imperial Project

This Crown Imperial is a great start for someone looking to get into a vintage luxury tourer. We love the look of this car and the interior looks like it's straight out of a Danish Mid-Century Modern design studio. The seller does not mention if the car runs or drives, but it does look like a very complete project needing minimal work. We'd paint it single stage gloss black, refurnish the carpet with a thick black carpeting material to add some sound deadening to the interior, and look for a modern fuel efficient power-train to turn this car into a wonderful daily driver. Find it here, in the San Francisco area, CA, for $5,500 OBO.

Craigslist Find: '89 E30 M3 Driver

E30 M3's can be fickle beasts if not properly maintained. This particular car has had a thorough going over and is currently in a reliable daily driver status. The motor and suspension were refreshed 5-6 years ago and the seller has put a hearty 25k miles on the car since then. The car is still not perfect as the interior is miss-matched and the wheels need refinishing. Find this fair deal daily driver E30 M3 here, in north San Diego, CA, for $16,900. We get the impression that there is some wiggle room in price, but not much.

Craigslist Find: '71 Challenger, R/T Clone

This '71 Challenger looks to have been built to be the perfect example of a muscle car from the early 70's. It's got the biggest motor and carb configuration offered by the manufacturer, 4 speed manual, Cragar SS wheels, and vintage muscle car stance. The 440-6 pack is not for the unmotivated, as it's a carb setup that will surely have you in the garage testing and tweaking in every spare moment you have. The body and paint look great, but it is unusual to see the headlight buckets with a different finish than the grill. We would also budget for a real Ralley gauge cluster and a set of true R/T exhaust tips. This car looks well sorted and very reasonably priced at $30,000. Find it here, in Houston, TX.

eBay Find: '72 Citroen SM Project

It's time to get giddy like a school girl. There's a Citroen SM project on eBay right now. This is one of the most stylish cars ever made and are rarely for sale in the US as a project. This particular car has sat in a garage all it's life with minimal rust or paint deterioration. The car hasn't been run since 1992, but was running when parked. We would budget for a complete brake, suspension, and rebuild of the Maserati motor to start the project. We would want to enjoy driving the car as soon as possible. The paint shows really well in the pics, but the seller warns that the car was "dusted" regularly by the last owner and that the paint has many small scratches. This may come out with a good buffing or color sanding but we wouldn't hold our collective breath for a show car shine. With 6 days left and bidding at $8,200 with no reserve, this could end up being quite the bargain for the Citroen enthusiast. Find it here, in San Jose, CA.

Craigslist Find: '89 240SX, RB25DET

We really like the shade of Land Rover Green that's coated this car and the green suede accents on the interior could lead to something very nice with a little more work. The RB25 is stock right now and is putting down a very respectable 245hp and 210tq at the wheels. The seller claims that less than 2000 miles have been put on the car, but with out a working speedometer and odometer, there is no way to confirm. We hope that all nuts, bolts, and mounting surface were masked properly when the wrinkle coat was applied to the engine bay, otherwise maintenance could become a headache. This cars looks to have had a solid build and is well worth the asking price of $13,000. Find it here, in Tacoma, WA.

Craigslist Find: '72 240Z, L28ET Project

Finding a good base for your next Datsun project has never been easier. This 240Z has been gone through, worked over, and has a parts list a mile long. The L28ET has been rebuilt, the car runs and drives. The body looks to have been properly sanded and is ready for blocking and paint. Seller states that the car is capable of moving under it's own power but still needs the intercooler connected and fine tuning on the standalone ECU. At $4,500, this project should leave you with plenty of money in your budget to complete a great 240Z. Find it here in Las Vegas, NV!

Craigslist Find: EG Honda Civic, V6 Swap

Here's a Civic that's sure to stand out from everyone else at your next Honda meet. This mildly insane builder has stuffed the V6 out of a 01-03 Acura TL-Type S into this little civic hatchback. We definitely would like to see a better solution for the hood clearance "issue", but it is reminiscent of the shaker hoods from the late 60's and early 70's. The interior obviously needs assembly and the body is going to need a good amount of work as well. Find monster Civic here, in D. Plaines, IL, for $7,500 OBO.

Craigslist Find: '72 510, KA24DE Swap

Coming from the Inland Empire is this great looking '72 510 with a recently rebuilt KA24DE swap. The car also sits on coil-overs, disk brakes all around, and a four point roll bar. Sadly, the seller isn't looking to sell outright, but to trade for a 510 with a SR20DET swap and is willing to put money on top. It's an odd trade to say the least, but we think the seller may let it go for a reasonable offer. Find it here!

Craigslist Find: '68 Ford Torino Fastback, Drag Racing Art

Most cars that run a sub 10 second quarter mile time are very rarely anything that we would call beautiful, let alone a work of art. Craigslist Find: Blue Plate '70 Datsun 1600

This little Fairlady Roadster looks to be in great shape and is wearing what we hope is an original blue plate. The black with the red interior makes the car look a bit more serious than most 1600's and the panasport wheels are an always welcome addition to any Datsun.  Find it here, in Los Angeles, CA, for $7,000.

Craigslist Find: Cheapest CA Titled R34 Skyline

Yes, the matte black makes it look like a rebodied 240SX. Yes, it only has a non-turbo RB20. No, it's an auto. Yes, $22,999 is a lot of money, but where else are you going to find a R34 for less than $40K? No location is given in the ad, but we believe this car is being offered for sale by ProMax in Alhambra, CA which always has an amazing collection of exotics adorning their parking lot. Craigslist Find: Datsun 620, Audi 1.8T Powered

We haven't seen a swap as odd as this in quite awhile. An Audi 1.8t, powering a Datsun 620 pickup, with a Toyota SR5 transmission. Somehow, this very odd combination seems to work and we like it. The 1.8t is running a full stand-alone system and is currently at 11lbs of boost. This is a very interesting setup but we imagine that figuring out who built what parts would be rather difficult. Three manufacturers all tied up into one chassis has us hoping that the builder created a list of who and what is where. The seller states that the body does need some dents removed and could use a respray. This truck looks like a wild time. Find it here, in St. George, UT, for $7,500.

Craigslist Find: E30 M3 Convertible Replica

Convertible E30's are some of the most fun you can have in a drop top. While having all the charm and good looks of an E30 M3, this car is actually a standard 325IC. You'll have great fuel economy and reliability long past that of a real M3, should you decide to keep the current power-train setup that long. This is a very clean example of an E30 and has a great deal of money and time poured into it to get it to it's current condition. Find it here, in Maplewood, NJ, for $16,000.

Craigslist Find: '70 'Cuda Project

It's been awhile since we've found a decent classic Mopar muscle project and this 'Cuda looks to be a solid platform for anything the next buyer could think of. The body looks to have some cancer from the photos and there is no mention of the all important grill. The car comes with a 318 and a 904 trans which helps to sweeten this already good deal. Find it here, in San Fernando Valley, CA, for $8,500.
