Forum Find: KA24DET '73 240Z

The SR20DET seems to be the turbo four cylinder of choice when swapping motors into classic Datsuns, but the KA24DET has some perks as well. For starters, it usually has more low-end torque and parts are more readily available at your local scrap yard. So it does make sense to find one so well put together in a Z car, like this one. The seller looks to have built the motor properly as well as the suspension. There is no mention of a brake upgrade which we feel is necessary for an old car with this much power. Find it here in Santa Ana, CA, for $11,000 with wheels or $10,000 without, OBO.

  1. How do you feel about this vehicle, CARTICULAR? Do you think it is built well enough for its $10,000 value?

    1. It is on the high side and basing a judgment off of two pics is difficult, but having minimal rust, having a solid built motor, and a clean swap install go a long way. For that price though, we would like to see a big brake upgrade and an immaculate interior. As always, a car is only worth what a buyer is willing to pay for it. The car is also on OBO status and the seller seems to be very willing to negotiate on price, but we always recommend seeing the car in person before making an offer.
