Event: Cars and Coffee Part 2, June 2012

The GT40 is another one of those cars where there is no shame in owning a replica.

It'd be a shame if such an iconic and beautiful design was only attainable by the ultra rich.
Some of the modern GT40 replica manufacturers go all out when designing the chassis, making these staggeringly competitive with contemporary supercars.

We would have a genuinely difficult time deciding between a GT40 replica built our way or a real deal GT supercar.

The way we see it is, you're not making a bad choice either way.
Just a vintage Ferrari hanging out, no big deal.

It's this kind of surprise that have given Cars and Coffee the reputation that it has.
We miss the days when Lamborghini would build a car for a purpose other than assaulting an Orange County Starbucks.
The LM002A was designed to take on the Rally Dakar but due to regulation changes just months before the race, the LM no longer qualified to compete.
It's not really surprising when you see the interior volume but these Lambos are actually larger than the Hummer H1!
It's truly an odd site to see a vehicle of this stature produce the sound of a high revving, high horse power, low torque, V12.
The LM002A holds a special place our hearts as being one of the coolest SUVs ever produced. Would we ever own one? No, that's comparable to owning a cute, cheerful, obese horse with a brittle bone disease. It's just going to make you sad every time it inevitably suffers a catastrophic failure.
