The California Air Resource Board is quite the pain for anyone who's into performance cars, not just for Californians. We feel their iron grip getting tighter with each passing year, making it more and more difficult for us to enjoy eeking out every last bit of power our motors have to offer. Every now and then a delightful loop hole presents it's self, opening up a world of swaps and modifications that we could only dream of before. This Volvo was born a Diesel powered econo car and now has the beating heart of a modified 5.3 LS based motor. Being born a diesel means that it doesn't have to meet smog standards of a gasoline motor. We have visions of everything from LS1 powered Mercedes wagons to R32 powered VW rabbits. This particular Volvo was being setup as a drag car and has an automatic 4L60E. The body, suspension, and brakes are stock and we highly recommend at least a brake upgrade. At $4,900, this looks like a great deal. Find it here in Santa Monica, CA!
