Event: Eagle Rock Datsun Show and Swap Meet, Part 2

A big draw to the show was the swap meet portion, which to average passerby may have looked like field of scrap metal, but to those with a keen eye it was a dream land full of parts to add to their projects.

Hidden in these piles of aged metal were several hard to find gems for Datsuns of all varieties.

Everything from performance parts, to hard to find interior pieces could all be found here. The coilovers at this booth were mighty tempting!

We were eyeing up the Recaros at the back of this vendors lot.

The great thing about the swap meet format is that you get to inspect the parts thoroughly and even get some awesome deals that you just won't find online.

We left the swap meet area with what little will power we had left to continue exploring the show area.

This black 510 was just fresh out of a full restoration and was for sale!

After a quick once over it was clear that this is one of the cleanest 1969 510s we've ever seen.

There wasn't a bad angle for this car.

Inside was spectacularly clean!

We would really have liked to have seen a set of seats that were more period correct for the car.

If you feel like giving the owner a call and inquiring about purchasing the vehicle please be aware that he asking substantial amount of money.

So clean!

This 510 on the other hand was far from original! This car was another heart breaker, the color, the motor, and the attention to detail is just fantastic.

Everything was just so clean and well done on this car.

Even the alternator got some special treatment!

This is another one of those cars that just motivates you to get moving on your own projects.

The dual exhaust was a nice touch as well.

From on amazing 510 to another, this car was setup to be a show and track monster.

Again, a super clean motor swap with attention to detail in every nook and cranny.

The interior of this car was just on another level! The seats were actually a better match on this car than most. With everything being updated inside and out they didn't appear out of place.

Normally, integrating a modern gauge cluster makes a motor swap go smoother but looks terrible. This on the other hand is quite nice, probably the nicest we've seen.

I'm still having a hard time believing that the owner has fit 255 17s on the back of this car!

Such a beauty!

By this time, most of the cars were heading home which gives you a chance to sample the fine noises these vintage autos make!

This car was another fine example of a 510 being powered by an carbed motor.

We loved the carbon fiber air box though!

There was something quite special about this car. Whether it was the vintage stripe job, the stance, or maybe it was the front fascia, it had a great presence.

So cool!

Gotta love fender mirrors!

Not all participants are die hard Datsun owners who drive Nismo all day every day.

This Miata had a really nice stance!

An old Toyota van has never looked better than this one sitting a on a set of mesh wheels!

An Evo is always a good choice.

This Fit had some great personality too!

The sun was really starting to take it's toll on some of the furrier show goers.  This poor guy was trying to squeeze under just about every dropped car on the lot to escape the heat.

Dogs are always great show companions!

As more and more cars left, we scampered to get our remaining shots.

Goons always have a special place in our hearts.

So much functionality in such a compact package!

It seems that one of the easiest ways to get your car noticed at a show is to bring some period correct accessories!

The truck was great but the bike was awesome!

We've seen this unique car a few times and it's always in perfect condition.
There's something special about faded pinstripes on a car. So much attention to detail and skill is required to lay down paint so perfectly that it makes it an emotional struggle to strip it off and spray over it.

As the day drew to a close the summer sun continued to berate all in it's view. The vendors collected their unsold goods, the show cars roared to life, and the once thriving lot returned to being a lonely patch of asphalt in Eagle Rock.  This show happens multiple times a year and you can bet we'll there when this lot springs to life again!
