On June 26th, a flock of Datsuns and their enthusiast owners descended on a small patch of asphalt in Eagle Rock CA. There was something for everyone. From pristine original survivors to fire breathing turbo charged monsters and everything in between. Full write up and photos after the jump!
You would never guess that such a small parking lot could hold some of the most diverse content from the Datsun world.
While the 510s had a strong presence at the show, almost every era of the Datsun/Nissan brand was represented.
This old girl was in nearly pristine condition.
We fell in love with every quirky detail this car had to offer, especially the wrist breaker hand crank!
This wonderful 411 set our hearts aflutter when we saw that it was powered by the ever faithful KA24e! All of that low-end torque and reliability stuff into a body styled by Pininfarina, who couldn't fall in love?
This 411 made us realize how unappreciated these cars are and that they are truly a special.
When it came to the 510s at the show, this was one of our favorites. It had all the right parts and an attention to detail that really made the car special.
It's a great daily driver that could also be a weekend track star and maybe just a little bit of an art car too.
We do too!
We at Carticular normally like our Datsuns to be bright colors that a kind of off the wall by modern standards, but this silver was perfect for the car!
Hmmmmm... batwing oil pan, shiny intercooler... we guessing that she's hiding a SR20 under that tangerine hood.
The blue plates on an orange car are kind of perfect!
We're not sure who makes this steering wheel but it's on our long "To Do" list of Google searches.
No Datsun show is complete without a ratsun!
Gotta love the 68-69 side markers!
We end part one with this lovely BRE paint scheme done in Gulf Livery colors. Look forward to our next post with more Dats and our coverage of the swap meet portion of the show!
